Program Description: How well-prepared are you during lambing time? What materials do you need and what observations do you need to make before birthing time? For goats and sheep, there are many common preparatory steps to make before that critical time comes around.
The Lambing and Kidding School will be offered in time to prepare the producer to get organized for the kidding and lambing season. Basics of preparedness and hygienic requirements for sheep and goat producers, and how to prevent and/or deal with the simpler health issues of newborns and the mother animals will be covered. Finally, a select panel of two sheep and two goat producers will talk about their experiences during the lambing and kidding seasons. Fee will include lunch and educational materials.
Registration Deadline: January 19, 2009. Registration forms can be attained by contacting the Extension Office or online under the Ag/Natural Resources area.
